Saka set to become Arsenal’s highest paid player

Arsenal’s home-grown talent Bukayo Saka is set to become the club’s highest paid player in the gunners. With a new long term deal insight, the players current contract expires in 2027. With his current contract, signed in 2023 and worth £195,000 weekly, set to expire in 2027. Arsenal are ready to offer the star a new deal in the summer. According to TBR Football, the club is prepared to offer Saka a £300,000-a-week deal, making him Arsenal’s highest-paid player. Surpassing Mesut Ozil’s £350,000-a-week record from 2018 with bonuses. This contract will not only reward Saka consistent form for the gunners over the years. But also state Arsenal and Arteta’s idea of keeping the key players of the gunner’s squad with a strong message of motivation to the academy players.

The rise of Saka in Arsenal

Bukayo Saka made his debut to the senior team in the year 2018 as a 17 year old kid. Since then he became an important piece for the gunner’s squad. His journey to the main team can be understood with consistency of performances and maturity far beyond his age. He played a crucial role in Arsenal premier league winning race last season by registering a double tally in terms of goals and assists for the team. In the 2022-23 season he scored a total of 14 goals and provided 11 assists which is brilliant. This season also he has scored a total of 11 goals and provided 13 assists across all the competition. This sort of consistent performance has not only cemented his place in the gunner’s team. But has also helped him break into the ranks of the England senior men’s football team under Gareth Southgate.

New contract for Saka

This new contract will help Saka’s earning to a next level as a reward for his contributions to the team. In his current wage structure which he earns a sum of £195,000 weekly, the new contract’s wage structure will lead to earn him much more. With this new upcoming potential deal, it will place him ahead of players like Thomas Partey and Gabriel Jesus in terms of the wage amount given. This move comes as a display as the gunners commitment to reward the potential and consistency of any player. In order for both the players the growth with their needs and also for a brighter future for the club. Helping them secure the talents in their prime so that the team can also have a secured future.

Author’s perspective

In my view this move by Arteta and the club management for Saka’s new contract is absolutely brilliant. Bukayo Saka though as given many stellar performances at just the age of 23, securing him for a long term deal would ensure the gunners get to enjoy Saka’s prime in terms of his playmaking providing more and more brilliant performances for the gunners. With Saka’s loyalty and commitment to the gunners it sends a positive message to the current Arsenal squad and the manger fostering a positive environment. Also, it can help to provide stability and continuous success for Arteta’s plans for future squad with a certain group of special players by maintaining their loyalty with their consistency on the pitch. This move of Bukayo Saka by Arsenal should serve as an example of how home grown talents can be grown with successful inclusion in the main squad.
