Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has a job ‘offer’ for the retiring four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel future after the 2022 season.
Sebastian Vettel announced his retirement following the 2022 season. The news came in as a surprise as the whole F1 world paid their tributes to the Legend.
However, it turns out that Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali had a post-retirement conversation with Sebastian Vettel regarding his future:
“Among other things, we talked about his decision and the future,” told the Italian.
“Sebastian will always be associated with Formula 1. And of course we want that connection to remain close in the future. If he is interested in becoming part of our system and the approaches fit together, I would of course welcome him here,”
said the former Ferrari manager.
“But we already know that, after the season, he wants to sort himself out and enjoy time with his family,”
The job can be related to issues Sebastian Vettel supported like sustainability and social progress.
Vettel is highly vocal on these issues.
The German drove a 1992 Williams on CO2-free fuel at Silverstone recently. He repeated the same by driving a 1922 Aston Martin on CO2 fuel later at French GP.
However, Domenicali insists that F1 is quite ahead already in these issues:
“It makes a difference whether you have to get a single car prepared for one or two laps or twenty cars prepared for 70 laps and a whole season,”
“We’re not behind with technology – on the contrary. We’re ahead of schedule. I will definitely experience environmentally-friendly fuel in Formula 1 during my lifetime,”
Whatever the job might be, we F1 fans would love to see Sebastian Vettel associated with the sport in any manner possible.
