Chelsea have been said to be offered Sergino Dest by Barcelona as part of a swap deal for Marcos Alonso.

Alonso has had a good season under Thomas Tuchel in the previous season. His career at the Blues was revived because of the lengthy absence of English left-back Ben Chilwell.

Alonso was featured in 28 Premier League games, during which, he scored four goals and five assists.

Alonso has a year left on his contract and he has been linked to Barca for quite some time now.

The Spanish international has voiced his wish of leaving Stamford Bridge this season.

OndaCero quoted him saying,” On paper, I have one more year of contract and that is what there is until today.”

I’ve already said other times that I would like to [return to Spain] but it doesn’t depend entirely on me. There are two games left here [with Spain] and then it’s time to rest.”

I’ve played 50 games, we’ve been world champions, we’ve had bad luck in the cup finals. I can’t complain about anything at Chelsea but the desire to play in Spain is there. It doesn’t depend entirely on me and I’m happy at Chelsea, I’m sincere.”

Moreover, the 90min reported that the Blues are contented with laying him off this summer. Moreover, they could also accept the deal for Sergino Dest.

Chelsea are in desperate need of a defender this season

The English powerhouses have to deal with several exits this season. The majority of them include- seasoned defenders.

While Antonio Rudiger has already made a permanent move to Real Madrid, there are a lot of others who are expected to leave.

Those players include Andreas Christensen, Cesar Azpilicueta, and Alonso.

Christensen is said to move to Camp Nou. Moreover, Azpilicueta has also been linked to the Catalan club for a long.

Therefore, Dest’s versatility is said to be beneficial for the Blues in the upcoming season.

Moreover, Dest for Alonso could prove to be a good bargain.
