Barcelona star striker Sergio Aguero was taken to the hospital after he reported some chest pain and complained about feeling dizzy during the La Liga game against Alaves on Saturday.
Aguero went down clutching his chest during the game against Alaves and was forced off in the 41st minute. He left the Camp Nou in an ambulance and was taken directly to the hospital to undergo a series of examinations.
Barcelona club statement after the match confirmed, “Aguero reported chest discomfort. And has been admitted to the hospital for a cardiac exam,”.
Barcelona’s caretaker coach Sergi Barjuan in his after-match interview confirmed that Aguero was feeling dizzy. And that he had just learned that Aguero was taken to hospital and had no further updates from there.
Aguero joined Barcelona in the summer as a free agent. After leaving Premier League champions Manchester City on a free. Aguero was on the sidelines with a calf problem for the majority of the start of the season. And since his return from injury, he has featured in four La Liga matches and one Champions League match.
Sergio Aguero scored his first goal for Barcelona after coming off the bench against Real Madrid in the El Clasico. The match against Alaves in La Liga on Saturday was Aguero’s first start of the season.
Aguero is “calm” about the sitation after the treatment of his chest pain
Barcelona’s caretaker coach Sergi Barjuan has now confirmed that he talked to Aguero and that he’s “calm”. The striker is confined to his room but considering the situation he is calm. But Aguero will stay in the hospital for further tests and observation.
Reports coming from Spain say that Aguero suffered cardiac arrhythmia. Barcelona will not allow the Argentine striker to return to the field until he is given the green light by health professionals.
