Sevilla in pursuit of PSG’s Thilo Kehrer

According to Estadio Deportivo, Thilo Kehrer has agreed on personal terms with Sevilla for a move from PSG. Now, with the departure of Jules Kounde, a slot in the defense has opened up. Sevilla director Monchi, who is a great admirer of Kehrer is looking to bring him to Sevilla as a replacement. Negotiations between the clubs will begin next month. Moreover, Monchi is quite sure that Kehrer will not miss this opportunity to make a move to Spain.

Kehrer joined PSG on 2018 for a fee of 37 million Euros. Over time, his importance in the team has diminished and now it has got even worse. He is excluded from Christopher Galtier’s plans this summer. The manager has also gone so far as to exclude the player from the first squad. Now, Kehrer, along with a few PSG players such as Rafinha, Wijnaldum, and Draxler who the club deems as a surplus are forced to train separately from the first team

Sevilla looking for replacement of Kounde

The Kounde-Chelsea-Barcelona saga has finally come to its conclusion. Kounde has departed the club to join Barcelona despite fierce interest competition from Chelsea. The sale of Kounde has given Sevilla some funding now to reinforce its squad and better it. Sevilla is choosing to replace like for like in the central defensive position. Kehrer has emerged as the primary candidate for the replacement of Barcelona-bound Kounde. Moreover, Kehrer has personally told Monchi that he is ready to make a move to Sevilla this year. He is also willing to reduce his annual salary of €5m a year to make this move happen

This readiness is due to the world cup in Qatar. Kehrer desperately wants to play in the world cup this year, To make sure that he is selected for the German national squad, he needs to play football regularly. A move to Sevilla guarantees playing time for Kehrer. At Sevilla, he is assured that he will be playing a central role in a team suited to his talents
