Spurs might just help their rivals in the transfer market

Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are two of the top six clubs in the Premier League and have a long rivalry for a very long time. Both these two maintained their rivalry on the pitch as well as off the pitch. But you might be surprised to know that Tottenham Hotspur might just help Arsenal for a better transfer market for the Gunners.

Harry Kane left Spurs last season, who used to be the main number nine for the Spurs. Spurs just signed English international Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth for a transfer fee of 65M. Last season Brazilian striker Richarlison took the responsibility of the number nine position for Tottenham Hotspur and made 31 appearances, bagged 12 goals, and provided 4 assists. At the very of the season, the Brazilian suffered from injuries, which forced him out of the squad.

Are Tottenham Hotspur really helping Arsenal?

Meanwhile, English international Dominic Solanke had an outstanding season with Bournemouth. The 26-year-old scored 21 goals and provided 4 assists in his 42 appearances across all competitions in the last season. The English international scored 19 goals in the Premier League division and finished as the fourth-highest goalscorer along with Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa and Phil Foden of Manchester City. Solanke’s brilliant performance caught the attention of Gareth Southgate and the 26-year-old eventually got a place in the England squad. So, a 65M purchase is a very good purchase for Spurs and all the Spurs fans are hoping that Solanke will continue his good form with his new club.

Solanke’s move to Tottenham Hotspur somehow helped Arsenal in terms of the situation of their striker Eddie Nketiah. Arsenal want to sell some of the back-up players, especially some home-grown players. So, the gunners could generate some money for more transfers. Last month news came out about Eddie Nketiah’s link with French side Marseille. Former Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi became the new manager of Merseille at the start of this season’s transfer market and Eddie Nketiah is the name who is on the news to join the French side.

But that deal is a far cry now, leaving the door open for Bournemouth. Bournemouth want to sign a new striker who could replace Dominic Solanke and Eddie Nketiah is one of their primary targets. Arsenal could let Nketiah go within the price tag of 30M. This should be a good offer for Bournemouth. So, this can be said that Tottenham Hotspur kind of help Arsenal as far as Eddie Nketaih’s deal is concerned.

More news on Arsenal and Spurs

Arsenal completed two new signings including the permanent move of David Raya from Brentford who spent the last season with the Gunners on a loan spell and the transfer of Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna. Meanwhile, Tottenham signed three new players. Dominic Solanke and Archie Gray joined on a permanent deal from Bournemouth and Leeds United respectively, while Timo Werner remained at the club on a loan deal.
