Stephen Kelly blown away by the performance of one Newcastle United star against Nottingham

Newcastle United locked horns with Nottingham Forest in the Premier League at The City Ground. It was a great clash as Eddie Howe’s men took the lead thrice and eventually stealing the three points. For Newcastle, it is a welcoming away win at Nottingham as they have been in a very uneven situation in terms of results.

However, one player who has been a constant for the Toons is midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. The Brazilian got his name on the scoresheet twice. Speaking on for the BBC, former defender Stephen Kelly was in awe of the way Guimaraes took his second goal of the night. The pundit said,

“It is an absolutely sensational finish from Bruno Guimaraes. He steps onto the ball and just caresses it into the bottom corner. Dan Burn stands across a defender to stop an attempted block on the shot, so it may be looked at by VAR, but take nothing away from the strike.”

It is during the tough time, the club heroes come forward for the rescue. It was one such night for the Brazilian and his second was really something special. Eddie Howe has been very much unlucky with the outcomes of his side so far this season. They were eliminated from the Champions League group and came at the rock-bottom. Moreover, their current campaign in the league is also not very lustrous. They are, however, having a chance to still push for a European spot given no more injury concerns.

Keeping their top players fit and firing will be the key for Howe’s side. Indeed, with Guimares in such a form, other will also push themselves to deliver more. If they can do that, then they have half a chance of upsetting the apple cart.
