As the end of the transfer window is around the corner, a lot of transfer rumors are going on, especially revolving around the mighty Arsenal. The Gunners have signed two new players this summer including Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna and David Raya from Brentford. Some Arsenal players already left the club to join a new club in this transfer window. Emile Smith Rowe left Arsenal to join Fulham for more playing time. One more player was set to leave Arsenal due to less playing time and he is Eddie Nketiah.
Eddie Nketiah is facing uncertainty about his future with Arsenal.
Eddie Nkeitah played 27 matches in the Premier League last season for Arsenal and 17 of them were coming off the bench. Nketiah scored only 6 goals in his 37 appearances last season across all competitions. The 25-year-old has been desperate to get more playing time. Nketiah was on the bench for the last two games for Arsenal but wasn’t called upon on the pitch.
Getting more playing time in the current Arsenal squad is very difficult for him. Kai Havertz looks like the main main for Mikel Arteta in the number striker position. With Gabriel Jesus in the squad as well, there is very little possibility for Nketiah to get sufficient playing time. So, a move to a new club will be better for the 25-year-old.
Nketiah was previously linked with French side, Marseille, for a possible move, earlier this month. But that deal broke down after the French side failed to match the asking price for Eddie Nketiah. Marseille offered a loan deal for the 25-year-old with an obligation to buy in the future. But the deal did not work out as the French side failed to seal the deal.
Eddie Nketiah’s deal with Forest has also broken down
After Merseille’s deal, Nottingham Forest were linked with Eddie Nketiah. Forest at first, offered £25m for the striker. But Arsenal refused to sell Eddie Nketiah for that price money. Then, Forest improved their bid and offered £30m for Nketiah. However, as per the news published by Arseblog, Nottingham Forest failed to seal the deal as the club couldn’t finalize all the personal terms with Nketiah. As a result of this, the deal has now completely broken down.
According to the Telegraph, another Premier League club, Crystal Palace, are now interested in signing Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal, after Forest’s deal broke down. Nketiah is also interested in joining Palace and talks are going over personal terms. Palace already placed their initial bid for Eddie Nketiah. However, there is still no final statement from Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, regarding the move of Eddie Nketiah to Crystal Palace. Arteta said that Nketiah is still an Arsenal player. Not just Crystal Palace, other Premier League clubs are also showing their interest in Eddie Nketiah.
