T20 world cup: This combination might help India win the trophy

MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli were into a deep and intense discussion during the first warm-up game for India in the T20 world cup. They were in the dressing room talking for as long as the game finished. MS was continuously talking about somethings with Kohli regarding. And it seemed to be a fun chat where both of the were smiling and talking with gestures.

We have no idea what they were talking about. But it felt like a significant occasion.

Virat Kohli has been a good skipper with the required potential. But luck hasn’t been in his favor often. Though, it might change this time with the involvement of mentor Dhoni. Kohli would want to win the trophy with his full capability along with his team.

Mentor Dhoni will play a significant role for India in T20 World Cup

The seriousness of the tournament was evident when BCCI appointed Dhoni. Dhoni is the mentor for the team India’s squad till the tournament goes. And this step taken by BCCI clearly shows the strategy. Mentor Dhoni is an essential part of the discussions and planning for the game along with Ravi Shastri and Kohli.

In a sense, Dhoni is Ravi Shastri’s assistant coach in all but name—or, to put it another way, he is a non-playing captain. In any case, Dhoni brings his tactical acumen to the table, as well as a strategic mind that is significantly different from Kohli’s.

This new democratic experiment includes vice-captain Rohit Sharma, who is set to take over as captain of India’s T20 team after the World Cup. Another captain whose strategic decisions, as seen in the IPL with the Mumbai Indians, diverge significantly from Kohli’s.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma on the fields and Ravi Shastri and MS Dhoni as coach and mentor respectively. This combination of experience in the team may or may not be a winning combination. There are too many cooks and such. However, if these disparate voices can be brought together in a harmonious whole, the effect might be devastating and in absolute favor.
