The boy fled from Afghanistan and makes it big on the cricket field

The boy who had fled from the Afghanistan in back of a truck has been granted asylum. The boy had bowled to Freddie Flintoff. The 44-year-old had returned to his home ground of Preston. In a documentary made by BBC called ‘Field of Dreams‘. This documentary shows that anyone can play competitive cricket. In addition, The player to play can be of any background.

During the filming of the documentary, it is shown that Adnan had been staying in England for some months after he had escaped Afghanistan. the young man escaped the native place in the back of a truck. Now, the lad has been living in an asylum with his foster parents. Furthermore, The foster parents are very happy and proud of the achievement the boy has got. Elaine who Is one of the foster parents of the young man said

 “To have impressed Freddie Flintoff, just shows how talented Adnan is. When Adnan arrived with us in March of last year, he went out into our garden and started bowling golf balls in our little driving range. Barry and I were immediately struck by his obvious natural ability. But there’s much more to Adnan than his sporting abilities. His story is astonishing.”

Elain on supporting the boy for a big career

Elaine further spoke on how they are supporting and encouraging the boy

“Effectively, Adnan traveled in the back of a lorry from Afghanistan to Calais by foot boat, truck and car. In Calais, he hid in an empty lorry and found his way to Preston. When he arrived here, he cut himself out of the lorry and handed himself into the police. Barry and I have total admiration for Adnan. In making his way to the UK, he has displayed astonishing levels of courage and ingenuity. Since he came to stay with us, he has learned English, made lots of friends at college, and of course, demonstrated his fantastic ability to play cricket.”
