India will play 3t20 i against South Africa. The final squad for the t20 world cup will play. But the weather seems to play spoilsport. The second t20 against Australia was an example of it. The match was reduced to 8 overs each due to the rainy forecast. A similar condition is expected for the first t20i against South Africa.

Weather spoilsport for 1st t20i against Proteas

Thiruvananthapuram will host the 1st t20i against South Africa. The match is under threat of suspension as there is rainy weather predicted. There may be a heavy pouring of rain. In such case maintenance of electricity is important. But recently Kerela State Board of Electricity disconnected the power supply. It was done as there were pending electricity bills for the power utilized in the stadium by the Kerela Cricket Association. The sports authority gave them word to repay the stipulated amount after the match. They have already submitted fees of 50000 to the electric board.

KCA official statement:

“There is no disruption, the match will be held as scheduled. Power or not, the match will be held with the help of generators anyway. That is the way for any international game, because a game cannot depend on the uninterrupted power supply from the state boards across states. We need power before the game and for maintenance and for that we have initiated back-up measures. The generators will be pressed into service. We want the match to happen and it will happen.”
