Manchester United are in a serious mess after their bad start to the season. Erik Ten Hag is under immense pressure as United failed to produce positive results in this season. The Red Devils are considering some names to replace Erik Ten Hag in case the situation deteriorates further. And as things are processing, the future of Erik Ten Hag looks very little with United. While considering some names to replace Erik Ten Hag, Manchester United are trying to bring former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel back to the Premier League.
Thomas Tuchel is the next Manchester United boss
Thomas Tuchel was in the Premier League with Chelsea after joining the Blues in 2021 for an 18-month contract replacing Frank Lampard. Till now, he was the only German manager that Chelsea had appointed. Under his managerial style, Chelsea once again reached the highest point in recent years. The Blues ultimately became the best club in the world after winning the Champions League in 2021, beating Manchester City. The German manager also won FIFA Club World Cup in that same year followed by UEFA Super Cup. But The 51-year-old was removed from his duties at Stamford Bridge in September 2022 despite having previously overseen the Champions League.
Thomas Tuchel then went on to join German side Bayern Munich in March, last year on a two-year deal. But it was a disaster, for both Tuchel and Bayern Munich as Bayern’s streak of eleven consecutive Bundesliga titles came to an end after they lost the title to Bayer Leverkusen in the last season. Bayern Munich went trophyless in that 2023–24 season, for the first time in 12 years. The last time this happened was back in the 2011-12 campaign. In February, this year both Bayern Munich and head coach Thomas Tuchel jointly decided to end their working relationship, and eventually, the German left the club.
Since then, Thomas Tuchel has been out of work. Manchester United were once interested in Tuchel during the summer transfer window. And now again the Red Devils considering him as the potential replacement for Erik Ten Hag. Thomas Tuchel has a winning percentage of around 60% with both Bayern Munich and Chelsea. As Tuchel already had Premier League football experience with Chelsea, United believes that he will fit perfectly.
United are struggling a lot in this season under Erik Ten Hag
Manchester United are in miserable condition right now. The Red Devils only scored eight points in the seven matches of the season so far, worse than the last season(9). Currently Manchester United is in the 14th position in the league, winless in the last three matches in the league including a 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. The Red Devils managed to secure one win in the last six matches across all competitions. If the situation does not change fast for United, there will be a very short time left for Erik Ten Hag at Old Trafford.
Apart from Thomas Tuchel, United also considering some other big names for the possible next Manchester United boss including current assistant manager of Manchester United Ruud van Nistelrooy, ex-England manager Gareth Southgate, and another former Chelsea boss Graham Potter. United was also once interested in signing the current Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi during the summer transfer window. But the Italian rejected any possibility of joining the Red Devils right now.

After the international break, Manchester United will travel to Brentford for the next Premier League fixture. That fixture had an immense importance for both Manchester United and Erik Ten Hag. Most importantly, United haven’t scored a single goal in the last Premier League match while conceding three goals.
