The current situation at Chelsea is a very contagious situation. But there are still some positives to look at for the Chelsea faithful. Thomas Tuchel’s side are still picking up important results in the league. The blues beat Newcastle United 1-0 on Sunday to pick up yet another three important points.

The recent sanctions posed on the current owner Roman Abramovich have put a lot of dark clouds around the club. Only the Chelsea season tickets owners are allowed to visit the home games, only further intensifying the bad omen that seems to be surrounding the club.

But reports suggest that the club takeover will be completed in the next four to six weeks. While Kai Havertz’s late winner against Newcastle United certainly provided the fans something to hear.

The good

Kai Havertz was the big money signing next summer but he failed to live up to expectations last time. Despite scoring the winner in the Champions League final last season, he has failed to live up to the hype so far. But the German star is now starting as the striker ahead of the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.

He has been directly involved in seven goals in his last seven appearances for the European champions. The forward is starting to grow more and more important for Thomas Tuchel. Since the German manager took over, Havertz is the leading scorer in the league for his team with 15 goals. The Chelsea faithful have even compared the German forward to club legend Eden Hazard after the winner against Newcastle United.

The bad

While on the one hand Kai Havertz has taken his chance and looks set to stay in the starting lineup. Striker duo Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner are struggling to find form in front of the goal. Club record signing Lukau in particular has really gone on the wrong foot with the Chelsea faithful. The controversial interview he gave regarding his return to Chelsea and his desire to return back to Inter Milan was publically criticized by the whole football world.

The Belgium striker has recovered just five league goals this term in the league. While the German striker has recorded one goal in the league this term. Both the striker’s future at Stamford Bridge looks in massive doubt.

The ugly

The recent sanctions posed on the Roman mean that the club can’t negotiate any new contracts with their players. While a lot of Chelsea’s stars are out of contract in the summer. Club captain Cesar Azpilicueta, star centre-half Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are all out of contract in the summer. Andreas Christensen looks set to join Barcelona on a free transfer win the summer. Azpilicueta is also a target for the Spanish giants. But the Chelsea faithful were optimistic about a new contract for Rudiger. But the recent sanction may force the German centre-half out of the club on a free transfer.
