Thiago Alcantara’s season in doubt as Klopp uncertain over return

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has expressed uncertainty over whether midfielder Thiago Alcantara will play again this season. Thiago has endured a frustrating campaign. He made his first appearance of the season in February after being sidelined with a hip injury. However, a muscle injury sustained during a brief cameo against Arsenal in February has thrown his season into further doubt.

Initially, Klopp had suggested that the injury was not severe. But he has now revealed that there is no clear timeline for Thiago’s return. The injury is similar to the one that kept him out for a significant portion of the season. Klopp admitted that he is unsure if Thiago will be able to play again this season.

Will Thiago play for Liverpool again?

The uncertainty surrounding Thiago’s future at Liverpool is compounded by the fact that he is out of contract in the summer. At 32 years old, there is a possibility that he may have played his final match for the club.

On a more positive note, Klopp provided an update on midfielder Stefan Bajcetic, who has been sidelined since September. Bajcetic has made only two appearances this season but is now pain-free and gaining fitness. However, Klopp noted that Bajcetic has not yet been given the green light for team training, indicating that there may still be some hurdles to overcome before he can return to action.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Thiago’s future and Bajcetic’s return, Klopp remains optimistic about Liverpool’s prospects. The manager emphasized that there is no one at the club who wants to hold Bajcetic back and that all necessary checks have been made on his injury.

As Liverpool continues to navigate a challenging season, Klopp will be hoping for positive news on the injury front as the club looks to finish the campaign on a high note.
