This is Todd Boehly’s fourth transfer window with Chelsea, and it was yet again, completely filled with chaos. The Blues spent over £200million to bolster Enzo Maresca’s squad. Stamford bridge saw around 30 transfers with Pedro Neto and Joao Felix among the marquee signings.
The manager banished certain senior players to accommodate new signings. The Blues have have earned around £150million from player sales. The club forced Raheem Sterling out to Arsenal on loan to sign Jadon Sancho.
Centre-back Trevoh Chalobah also switched to Crystal Palace on loan at the eleventh hour of deadline. However, the manager requested the signing of a new striker which the club could not complete. The Chelsea board were in constant negotiations with Napoli for Victor Osimhen but failed to agree terms with the Italians.
The West London side also tried to sign Ivan Toney instead from Brentford, but it was too late. The Englishman had already agreed on personal terms with Saudi club Al Ahli.
As per reports from the Sky, Chelsea spent the most money, and the club also earned the most from player sales. The owners made huge profit from player sales this summer.
The West Londoners on paper look very strong and capable of winning titles. New manager Enzo Maresca has been given a strong squad to compete with and there is no room for errors. The manager must try to create unity inside the dressing room and build chemistry between the players.
Chelsea’s condition in the transfer window can be summarized by a famous quote. It says;
“Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them.“

Rating top Blues’ signings
Pedro Neto (8/10)
The Portuguese is a type of player who can play anywhere up top. In the Premier league only Kevin De Bruyne averages more assists per 90 minutes than Neto. His creativity on the pitch is simply sensational, his final passes are deadly. He is also a very effective set-piece taker. He provides brilliant crosses from the wing. His cross accuracy is fifth highest in the Premier league. Brilliant signing!
Joao Felix (6.5/10)
The youngster was tipped to become the next big thing in football but he failed to live up to expectations. He is a sensational dribbler and has admirable finishing qualities. He is a different than Sterling but can inflict more damage to opposition. However, it is felt that it was not necessary to sign him.
Jadon Sancho (7/10)
His pace, dribbling and vision to find the perfect pass makes him perfect replacement for Raheem Sterling who has joined Arsenal. He is a decent addition to Enzo Maresca’s squad, the winger’s age is his best weapon. He is still in his youth, and can make a comeback with the right mentality. His ability to play on either left or right side of the pitch makes him stand out from the rest. Decent signing.
Overall Transfer Window Rating: (6/10)
Chelsea will be disappointed for not being able to sign a striker before deadline. The officials could not manage to sign either Victor Osimhen or Ivan Toney despite months of negotiations. The club has signed many young players but the treatment of senior players has damaged the club’s reputation.
Chelsea have signed too many attackers which has created a circus inside the dressing room. Pretty average window in respect of the sporting benefits but a very profitable one from the owners point of view.
