According to Football London, former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel advice Enzo Maresca on the pre season tour. The manager was openly criticizing the schedule before leaving Chelsea. Thomas Tuchel believes that travelling to many different countries just weeks before start of Premier League season is absurd. Majority of the pre season tour is mostly for marketing purposes according to the manager. Getting the team ready, integrate new players in the squad all of this work needs to be done in a short amount of time. Chelsea signed a lot of players in the recent transfer windows including majority of youngsters. Some players like Romeo Lavia are yet to get their first minutes with the team. Key players from the team like Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandez are yet to join the squad in their journey. Chelsea also lost their opening match to Celtic by 4-1, hard work is needed now.
Chelsea are facing many problems since the last season that they need to take care of. The first thing will be to integrate the new signings in the squad accordingly. Chelsea signed new players like Moises Caicedo, Christopher Nkunku and many other youngsters. The problem is many of them are yet to find their foot in English football. Last season many players were hit by injury for the majority of the season and did not get consistent game time under Mauricio Pochettino. When the players were finally getting a hold of the tactics the manager got sacked on a short notice. Due to injuries Pochettino could not field a consistent starting eleven for majority of the season last year. In their North London derby match against Tottenham, Chelsea had only 14 first team players available. This is the reason why players find it difficult to adapt to the changing tactics.
