Three players including Reiss Nelson could leave Arsenal

Last year runners up in the Premier League Arsenal are eager to strengthen the squad to win the title this season. The Gunners already started their transfer market business this season. David Raya of Brentford completed his permanent move to Arsenal after spending the full last season with the Gunners on a season-long loan spell. Now the Gunners are very close to completing the signing of Riccardo Calafiori from Italian club Bologna. While new players are coming, three Arsenal players including Reiss Nelson may leave in this summer transfer window.

Reiss Nelson is from Arsenal academy before joining the senior squad in the 2017/18 season. The 24-year-old has been with the Arsenal senior squad since then. However, Reiss Nelson also completed two loan spells during this time period with Hoffenheim and Feyenoord. Mainly Reiss Nelson played as a backup player for the position of right-wing. Arsenal Bakayo Saka is the main man for the right-wing side. So, Mikel Arteta used Reiss Nelson as the backup player for that particular position. Last season Nelson 15 appearances in the Premier League, 14 of them were coming off the bench. In all competitions, Reiss Nelson made 23 appearances for Arsenal last season, netted only one goal, and bagged 2 assists. Bakayo Saka is young and arguably Arsenal’s best player right now, which means Nelson’s future with the Gunners is very uncertain.

Will Reiss Nelson leave Arsenal this summer?

Newly Promoted Leicester City are very interested in signing Reiss Nelson from Arsenal this summer. After being relegated in the 2022/23 season, Leicester City are back in the English top flight once again. Now the club is keen to make some moves to strengthen the squad. Reiss Nelson is one of the players they are targeting right now. 20-year-old Abdul Fatawu is their main player on the right-wing side of the pitch.

Reiss Nelson will be a good option for that position as he already has experience of Premier League football and is also just 24 years old. However, according to the report of Fabrizio Romano, published by Arseblog, Reiss Nelson might join Leicester City on a loan spell with an obligation to buy in the future. Well, everything depends on the decision of Nelseon, whether he wants to join or not. But Leicester City are pretty confident that they will be able to get the deal done.

Players might leave Arsenal apart from Reiss Nelson

Apart from Reiss Nelson, two other players including the midfielder Emilie Smith Rowe and striker Edward Nketiah also could leave Arsenal in this transfer window. Premier League side Crystal Palace are chasing Emilie Smith Rowe and French side Marseille are interested in signing striker Edward Nketiah.

Emilie Smith Rowe also struggled at Arsenal to get sufficient playing time under Mikel Arteta. And just like Smith Rowe, striker Edward Nketiah is also finding it hard to get sufficient playing time with the Gunners. Last season Nketiah made 27 appearances in the Pre,mier League, while in just 10 of them, he started for the Gunners. Meanwhile, Emilie Smith Rowe only started 3 matches for the Gunners in his 13 appearances in the Premier League last season. That means a fresh move to a new club will definitely be good for both of them as both can expect more playing time.
