Tiemoue Bakayoko had been linked with Lyon since the start of the transfer window. But a deal for Tiemoue Bakayoko to Lyon has now reportedly collapsed. The deal collapsed on the deadline day, this was confirmed by the Chelsea player’s agent. He is currently on a loan deal to AC Milan. Tiemoue Bakayoko had hoped to find a new club by the end of this transfer window. AC Milan were unwilling to play him as it would have triggered a buy option for the player. Therefore the player still remains under contract with Chelsea for another 18 months. Cremonese was another club that was interested in signing the player. They wanted to sign the player for the rest of the season. But now the player’s agent Federico Pastorello have now confirmed that both talks have collapsed and there is now no hope for a move.

Tiemoue Bakayoko is to still remain a Chelsea player for the next 18 months

The deal for Tiemoue Bakayoko collapsed because they encountered some problems on the deadline day. The agent of the player commented,

“Bakayoko couldn’t join Cremonese due to a few issues.”

He further added,

“I don’t think [he’ll join Lyon]. There are some problems between Lyon, Milan and Chelsea.”

Chelsea have been trying their best to bolster their midfield this transfer window. They have had an underwhelming season so far. The Blues have been linked with Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez since the beginning of the January transfer window. But the deal had collapsed earlier this season. But Chelsea had again tried to sign the player before the deadline week. However, the Blues have now managed to seal the deal for the player. They have agreed to pay the release clause for Fernandez in four installments.

Tiemoue Bakayoko could come back to Chelsea after the loan spell at AC Milan ends this season. However, he would be a surplus player for the Blues. He was already an outcast player in the Chelsea squad. Therefore Chelsea would be looking to sell the player before his contract ends with the Blues. The Blues would be hoping to cash in from the sale of Tiemoue Bakayoko.
