Tim Steidten praises West Ham United star Edson Alvarez by calling him a “key player”

Tim Steidten has delivered a verdict on West Ham United star, Edson Alvarez. Tim says that Edson is a key figure for the Hammers and fans also feel the same. The impact of Alvarez can be understood as when Phillips joined the London side on loan, it was said that James Ward-Prowse or Tomas Soucek will be sacrificed. This clearly shows how good of a player the Mexican is.

Alvarez is widely regarded as arguably the team’s most important player. Moreover, West Ham’s performances and results without him support that argument as well. Though, for the technical director Tim Steidten, it is not even an argument.

The German man was praised for his extraordinary transfer market skills in the summer transfer. The crowning glory of which was sealing deals for Alvarez and Mohammed Kudus for a combined £72 from Ajax. He throws light on how good Edson is and how he beats Borussia Dortmund for his signature.

“He has a very big influence on our (West Ham’s) game. I am very happy that Dortmund may have been a bit slow and I had the chance to get him. I have also known him for a very long time. He is a super important player for us. He is a leader. An absolute leadership figure. He is top.”

The Mexican will surely be a nomination for Hammer of the Year award. West Ham fans will also hope Steidten to stay with the club amidst reports from Liverpool considering him. If he gets the right amount of money to spend from the Hammers’ management, he will definitely love to stay and provide his services. The signs are good with the Hammers surely prime candidates to spend big as Gary Neville predicts a summer splurge.
