Tottenham Hotspur are willing to let pricey flop Tanguy Ndombele go in the January transfer window.

Antonio Conte has requested Tottenham Hotspur to listen to bids for Tanguy Ndombele in the forthcoming January transfer window. According to Football Insider, the player’s work ethic and devotion to the squad have been openly questioned by the newly-appointed head coach, who feels he is beyond redemption.

As a result, Conte has asked the club to sell Ndombele before the end of the season. After being locked out of the club by three managers in a row the midfielder himself may be willing to leave North London. While he was said to be interested in leaving Tottenham in the summer, but the club received no viable bids.

Ndombele is said to have cost Tottenham £110 million in transfer fees and salaries, since coming from Lyon in the summer of 2019.

However, the midfielder has struggled to duplicate his Ligue 1 achievements in the Premier League. Which has been nothing short of a nightmare for the North London powerhouse. While the Frenchman has shown flashes of his abilities, he has battled with consistency at times. Several managers, including Conte, have questioned his off-field behavior and mentality. In reality, since the arrival of the Italian strategist, the midfielder has only played 23 minutes of league football in total.

As a result, relocating outside of North London may make sense for both parties. Tottenham will almost certainly be able to recuperate some of the £55 million, which they paid for the player in 2019. Following which they can utilise the transfer fee to support January targets like Nahitan Nandez.

Tanguy Ndombele must be kept by Tottenham Hotspur

For Ndombele, a transfer away from Spurs will provide him with the chance to resurrect his career. In terms of possible destinations, Ndombele was linked with moves to both Barcelona and Real Madrid in the summer.

Fortunately for him, several of Europe’s top teams are still interested in signing him. Earlier this season, the midfielder was on Sevilla’s radar. While Manchester United were reportedly examining him as a possible replacement for his compatriot Paul Pogba.

Tottenham, on the other hand, were said to be looking into the possibilities of a swap deal involving him and Lyon’s Houssem Aouar. However, it looks that his previous team may be unable to finance Ndombele. It would be a shame for a player of such talent to go back to a league with little competition. However, he should make a move away from Spurs soon and find a better place for showing his talent.

The player will need to increase his work rate to make sure he is on the radar of various clubs in Europe. While he will need to push himself on the team sheet during their cup games. Moving further he has to leave an impact in the eyes of the fans by providing either multiple assists or key passes which would help Tottenham score more. While it’s only a matter of time to see where the player goes.
