Trevoh Chalobah is enjoying life in Crystal Palace. The 25-year-old defender is currently playing for the Eagles on loan from Chelsea. But, the Blues could now be regretting their decision to let him go. The defender is a product of the club’s academy. He would go on to play for the first-team in 2018. As per wikipedia, he would have loan spells with Ipswich Town, Huddersfield Town and Lorient until 2021. Then, he would go on to become a part of the lineup in London. As a result, he would feature in 80 games for them, scoring 5 goals too.
Trevoh Chalobah back to Chelsea?
Enzo Maresca came in as a new manager this summer. Upon his arrival, plenty of players found themselves in a tough spot. So, the 25-year-old was not in the manager’s plans. As a result, he had to find a new club to ensure regular first-team football. So, Trevoh Chalobah ended up joining Crystal Palace on a season long loan this summer. Although, even then, he has only managed to make 1 appearance for the Eagles. The defender will be keen to get back to his best and get back on the playing field regularly.
Did Chelsea make a mistake with the defender?
The 25-year-old was becoming a homegrown star for the club. At the same time, captain Reece James continues to struggle with injury. So, as per caughtoffside, Malo Gusto is under added pressure. So, Chelsea have a problem on the right-back position. Keeping Trevoh Chalobah at the club would have solved their problems. At the same time, we recently saw Reece James considering a move away to maintain fitness and help his recovery. So, recalling the 25-year-old from Crystal Palace won’t be such a bad move after all. It will be interesting to see if the Blues revert their mistake or look for a new solution altogether.
