Trystan Stubbs tried so Hard, and Got so Far……

Tristan Stubbs announced this arrival in the World Cricket with his rampant innings of 72 from just 28 deliveries. The innings came while playing for South Africa, against England in Bristol.

South Africa won the toss, and let England bat first. England put a massive score of 234 on the board. Credits go to Moeen Ali and Jonny Bairstow. Moeen, the all-rounder thrashed the fastest T-20I half-century from just l6 balls. Earlier, it was Liam Livingstone who had the badge (17 balls). However, results could have been different if Bairstow wasn’t dropped by the SA fielders. Bairstow continued his beast form and hit a brutal 90 runs of 53 balls.

Coming to bat, the South Africans lost early wickets. The 21 years old Stubbs walked into the crease when South Africa was in deep trouble. South Africa was at just 86 after losing 4 wickets. From then, he tried to change the scenario. With the likes of opener Reeza Hendricks (57 of 33), it could have a great fight for the hosts. But Alas! SA fell short of 41 runs.

‘HE IS EVERYTHING… A SPECIAL TALENT’- Peterson on Tristan Stubbs.

Each and every second the bloke spend on the field was absolutely superb. Even the commentators were heartily praising him. Stubbs alone was enough to create wrinkles on the English bowler’s forehead.

While speaking about Stubbs, his franchise cricket coach Robin Peterson gave an insight about the lad. He told SACricketmag.com,

“He has everything. He is a special talent. I don’t spend much time on the technical aspects of his game at all.”

He added,

“He’ll go away and work on that and, more often than not, solve the problem. What’s more, he’s a great hockey player, too, and that gives his cricket a degree of unorthodoxy that you can’t really coach.

“He has all the shots. On Wednesday he hit the leg side and straight boundaries well. He gave himself room to hit through or over extra cover a few times as well. But he has all the shots … he can lap, reverse sweep, scoop … everything.

He is also fiercely competitive, but he doesn’t wear his heart on his sleeve. He is quiet, he doesn’t really have too much to say. But you’re never in doubt about his desire to win. He doesn’t overthink things, he has a natural, instinctive gift that he leans into. He also just has fun.”

Trystan’s may not gift South Africa the desired win, but will definitely assure a power-packed entertainment in the coming years.

Well, SA leveled the series by winning the second one.
