The Boys in Blue emerged triumphant in Caribbean soil to be crowned the new champions of U-19 cricket. The team’s stunning performance heaped praises from several icons of the game. The heroes returned home on Tuesday and received a phenomenal welcome at Bengaluru. The colts then were invited to watch the 2nd ODI of the ongoing series of the senior team against Windies.

BCCI honored the Yash Dhull led side for their epic journey to glory. The team along with coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar and other members of the support staff enjoyed a thrilling contest as the host took an unassailable lead in the series to continue their domination in white-ball cricket.

In the presence of National Cricket Academy head VVS Laxman, BCCI secretary Jay Shah, treasurer Arun Dhumal, the boys earned veneration at the Narendra Modi Stadium. As previously declared by BCCI, the colts received Rs 40 Lakhs cash prize. While the support staff received a reward of Rs 25 lakhs each.

Despite lack of preparation due to the pandemic, the young heroes achieved the unachievable by first winning the Asia Cup and then emerging as World Champions.
