Middlesex has picked Indian pacer Umesh Yadav for the rest of the 2022 season of county cricket.

This marks Umesh Yadav’s debut in county cricket in England and he has replaced Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Afridi has gone for national duties as Pakistan will be touring Sri Lanka.

Umesh Yadav has a decade worth’s of experience behind him in international cricket and his skills are an asset for any team.

Middlesex’s Alan Coleman said that Yadav will be a handful against the opposition.

Umesh Yadav has been called in with immediate effect for Middlesex’s clash against Worcestershire that is ongoing.

Yadav will also be participating in the Royal London One-Day Cup.

He is currently not in the scheme of things for India and like his fellow teammate Cheteshwar Pujara, he can continue playing county cricket with ease.

Yadav was a part of the Indian Test team last week against England.

Over the years, Yadav has become a backup pacer for the team as of now.

It is also being understood that Washington Sundar will also return to the scheme of things in county cricket.

He is in the final stages of his rehabilitation from a leg injury and will be one of India’s choices for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in Australia.
