Victor Osimhen has had a pretty dramatic transfer saga. The 26-year-old came so close to joining Chelsea. But, the move broke down. The star striker wanted to leave Napoli. Top clubs including the likes of Arsenal, PSG and Chelsea were willing to sign the Nigerian star. He even had interest from Saudi as Al-Ahli were also in the race. But, Arsenal and PSG never made a serious move. At the same time, the striker wanted to continue playing in Europe. As a result, the Blues had the best chance of signing him. Although, the move would break down in the final days of the transfer window due to ‘unfavorable conditions’. As a result, the striker was left with no other option. So, Galatasaray made the most of the situation and made a loan deal for him.
A look at the current situation
Victor Osimhen had to join Gala as a last resort. He simply had no other options on the table. So, he made the switch to continue being in touch. Now, what’s interesting is the structure of the contract. A ‘break clause’ is part of the deal which ensures that any club can sign him in January for a reduced fee of £62.8 million. But, at the same time, this is only applicable for non-Italian clubs.
Victor Osimhen to Chelsea very likely
As per teamtalk, Juventus are also keen on signing the 26-year-old. But, they will have to negotiate with Napoli over a fee. So, Chelsea have the upper hand due to the break clause. Then, even Victor Osimhen wants to play for a big club and try out in the Premier League. At the same time, there were rumors that Gala wanted to activate the break clause too. But, according to the recent updates, even they are false. The Blues are looking for a striker in January. So, the Nigerian star is at the top of their list. Benjamin Sesko is also an option. But, Arsenal are the frontrunners there. Another alternative is Victor Boniface. It will be interesting to see if the Blues are able to secure a move for a new star striker.
