In the eliminator in Sharjah, Virat Kohli had an intense argument related to false dismissals given by Virender Sharma. Virender Sharma was the umpire standing at the bowling side who didn’t have a good day at the business. RCB’s captain was also going through a bad day at the business. And mistakes from umpire was making the match more intense. In the match, Virender Sharma gave 3 wrong decisions which got reversed by the third umpire. It seemed like he had no idea it was a crucial match.
Virat Kohli took the review on time when it was the wicket of Rahul Tripathi. But the umpire denied. So, after the review third umpire reversed the decision.
After Hawk-eye detected the leg before wicket then third umpire told Virender Sharma to reverse his decision. Later celebrating the wicket…Virat Kohli went to the umpire and talked for a while. And as usual, Virat Kohli was animated and vented his feelings with actions and words. Virender Sharma must have had realized the three blunders that he made in such a crucial match.
And this wasn’t the first time that umpire made some mistakes but this has been pretty consistent this year. There have been many instances where bad decisions have impacted the performance of teams.
Sharma got asked by the third umpire and the false decision got overturned from NOT OUT to OUT. And as usual, Umpires gave less points to RCB in this case for the fair play game just because of Virat Kohli’s natural expressions.
The first two blunders happened when RCB was batting. Virender Sharma gave Shahbaz and Harshal out even when they were not. But the decision got overturned later via DRS.
