Virender Sehwag feels Umran may have had a fight with management

Cricket

Former India batter, Virender Sehwag has recently commented on SRH’s star pacer, Umran Malik.

The young pacer was one of the most successful for his franchise last season in the IPL.

Therefore, everyone was expecting the same magic to happen once again this season from him.

However, he was allowed to play only seven games and even in the final two games, he was benched throughout.

After the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore, skipper Aiden Markram said that he didn’t know what the reason with Umran was.

If SRH had allowed Umran to play in all the remaining fixtures, he could have shut everyone down.

Now, Aiden Markram’s response has created quite a stir on social media with many speculating different things for Umran.

Sehwag cites a different reason for Umran not playing in IPL 2023

Meanwhile, Sehwag is of a different opinion on Umran Malik. He feels that the pacer might have had some fights with the SRH management.

Because of this heated argument, the management may have opposed Umran Malik from playing in the rest of the games.

Says Sehwag,

I feel you can do anything behind the scene that is your life, if you are performing in the ground and you are working hard for it, that is important for me. When I was the coach or mentor, I believed that when you are in the ground, I want 100 percent effort from you, off the field what you do, I have no meaning in that, that is your life. I truly did not understand what ‘behind the scene’ meant. It could be that he (Umran) had a fight with the management or maybe there was an argument, then that is bad. You were given an opportunity, you did not perform, now you have to wait until your next chance. You should shut the mouths with your performance.

With SRH out of the playoff race, they will now be able to get to 9th place only if DC loses to CSK today.

Additionally, they will also have to beat their opponents in their last league match in order to grab 9th place.

Moreover, a lot will depend on the NRR for these two teams as well.
