Virgil van Dijk has named the best players he’s played alongside in Liverpool. He previously named Kevin de Bruyne as the player he’d loved to play with.

The Netherlands captain is currently in Qatar preparing for the upcoming World Cup. He thinks he has played with many quality talents at Anfield. But there’s one player he thinks is best he’s played alongside.

While talking on Pitch Side Podcast, he said:

“I would say at Liverpool probably Bobby Firmino,”

“Yeah, also knowing how difficult it is to play against him as a defender. He drops deep and all of this stuff.

“So I can say Bobby Firmino, Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Thiago.

“It has been a joy to play with all these guys.”

Robert Firmino has been an important player for Liverpool

Robert Firmino joined the Reds back in 2015 from Hoffenheim and has won every major trophy possible. He has mastered the role of ‘false-nine’ role during his time at Merseyside.

His off-ball movement and work rate is something that gets appreciated by the fans. His start to the current campaign has been pretty decent.

Although his game time has been limited by Jurgen Klopp after the arrival of Darwin Nunez from Benfica. But the No. 9 has been in sensational form. The 31-years old has bagged nine goals and four assists in 21 appearances across all competitions.

However, he has been left out from Brazil’s squad for the World Cup which was a shocking decision for Van Dijk. Van Dijk has also named Frenkie de Jong as the best player he’s played alongside at the national team labeling him as “incredible“.
