Vlahovic to solve striker issues at Arsenal as per the rumours.
Vlahovic At Arsenal Soon?
Arsenal had a not so good game in the FA Cup defeat against Manchester United. Also there has been a season ending injury to Gabriel Jesus. Bukayo Saka is also expected to be out of the squad for several more weeks. The situation has got the Gunners into looking for options. They are in search for someone who can be clinical in front of the goal.
Benjamin Sesko is rumoured to be one of the options for the Gunners. But it wouldn’t be a transfer window without Dusan Vlahovic being linked to them.
Arsenal have reportedly made an offer to the Serbia international this January. The striker, although, had previously snubbed them for Juventus three years ago.
Some reports say that the Italian club is willing to look for offers for the Serbian striker. Dusan has a contract in place that runs till 2026. And talks on extending the contract aren’t taking any shape.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Randal Kolo Muani is also going to join the Bianconeris. Vlahovic’s move to the Emirates Stadium may happen with his replacement already on it’s way.
Can Vlahovic Be The Missing Piece at Arsenal
The North London side is yet to make a signing in this transfer window despite in a desperate need of a striker. Jesus is also out for the rest of the season with ACL injury.
Kai Havertz continues to struggle in scoring goals. There’s a heavier burden on him in absence of the star forwards to find a regular scoring form. When asked about the possibility of making some new signings, Mikel Arteta avoided the question without giving any direct answer.
Now the Gunners seem to have reportedly made an offer to sign the 24-year-old Serbian. It seems to be loan deal until the end of the season. Although it being said that the Italian side have rejected the bid. They would like to directly sell the player.
RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko is also preferred by Arteta’s side. Although, Sesko wants to play in Germany for one more year. He might be available at the end of the season.
Newcastle’s Alexander Isak is another player constantly linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium. But his reported record price tag of £150m would be something that Arteta’s side will not be wiling to offer this month.
The North London Side Got Snubbed Previously
Earlier in January 2022, the forward was linked with a move to the Emirates stadium. The English club made an offer of £50 million plus Lucas Torreira, which got rejected by Fiorentina. They were in a similar desperate situation at that time.
Dusan then later joined the Bianconeris with a £66.6 million move on a four-and-a-half year deal. Later he revealed that there were no intentions of him joining the Gunners.
In an interview with The Telegraph he said,”Maybe my agent knows about it (Arsenal’s offer) but I never talked to anyone about it.
“I just had one club in my mind because Juventus is Juventus. There is nothing else to say.
“And now I feel honoured to be given the jersey. It’s incredible every time I put it on. I definitely identify with their DNA. The Juventus personality coincides with my personality.”
He scored 40 goals in his 91 matches in the Serie A for his club.
