Transfer of Vlahovic to Juventus has just given Arsenal’s summer transfer plans a huge boost after they shockingly agreed to sell the striker for just €40 million. However, with his once high price way down below this figure, the Serbian striker is now on the radar of the Gunners as they search for new attacking options. The North London club is keen to shift its front line and the idea of bringing in Vlahovic for a fraction of his original value is too good to miss.
The Gunners’ Forward Search
Correspondingly, Arsenal have been searching for a dependable striker, and Vlahovic is just the man they are looking for. Vlahovic, however, has been inconsistent for Juventus and his old team has produced for a reason with his form. The Gunners attack has lacked that clinical edge at varying points and someone like Vlahovic could give the kind of needed firepower up front.
Other names on their list also include Alexander Isak of Newcastle and Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting Lisbon. Vlahovic is, however, in an excellent position for a club like Arsenal with a tight budget provided that they can shift a few players, with the fact that he is up for sale at just €40 million.
Is Vlahovic the Right choice for Arsenal?
Arsenal’s interest in Vlahovic is not new, but this summer is one where the player and club can both benefit. While vlahovic is still relatively young and yet to fully reach his potential, he would benefit from being at arsenal in its current state. The main problem is with Arsenal balancing their budget. Into the summer the Arsenal players too will be out of contract, with Thomas Partey and Jorginho likely the first to be sold (if they are to be sold) if the club has any chance of funding this move.
But he could be the striker Arsenal have been waiting for. It would be an exciting signing for the fans, but also, from what he’s doing at the moment, potentially a bringer of top tier success.
