The craze of Sanju Samson across India has been immense. Fans have been supporting the Keralite with huge crowds gathering to see him and posters of him on the ground. His supporters went one step further as they bought the banners of Sanju Samson in FIFA World Cup. The fans had his poster demanding ‘justice for Sanju Samson’ in the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The unlucky career of Sanju Samson
Sanju Samson has been one of the most gifted batsmen in World Cricket. He has been classy playing eye-pleasing strokes whenever he bats. But still, Sanju Samson has been able to cement his place in the Indian side. He featured in the side in 2014 for the first time and 8 years after his debut, he still is not able to get enough chances for the country.
Even when he has been picked in the squad, he does not get a longer or is mostly benched. In the Ireland series before the T20 World Cup, he was picked in the squad but did not play even in a single match. He was then dropped after senior players like Virat Kohli, and Rishabh Pant returned to the side. Then, he was dropped from the T20 World Cup as well.
Jaffer comes in support of Samson
Wasim Jaffer has been very active on social media stating his opinions about Cricket. He has tweeted that the young wicketkeeper-batsman must be picked in both the T20 and ODI squad for the Sri Lanka Series as well as the New Zealand series that follows.
“I hope Sanju Samson is part of India squads for both the T20I and ODI series against SL and NZ. And gets a consistent long run.”
