Mercedes F1 driver Lewis Hamilton will be taking part in his 17th full season in Formula 1 in 2023.

Yesterday, Mercedes revealed their 2023 car – the W14 for the first time. The car marked the return of black livery to the Silver Arrows. The team will be hoping for a comeback after a rollercoaster 2022 season.

Mercedes star driver Lewis Hamilton also endured one of the worst seasons of his career. The Briton failed to score even a single win – first in his 16-year-long F1 career. Further, the seven-time world champion got outscored by his new teammate George Russell by 35 points.

The Brackley-based squad also managed to score only one win and a pole last year. Both of which were scored by Russell one in Hungary and the other in Brazil.

During the W14 launch event, Lewis Hamilton seemed positive for the 2023 season. The 38-year-old is looking to make this year a comeback year:

“I have been a part of this team for over a decade and the efforts of everyone never cease to amaze me. I find it inspiring how diligently and passionately each person approaches their work.

“To see the evolution of the car and the changes that have been made is fascinating. We’ve redesigned, optimized, and innovated so many parts of the car and that is impressive. And I love the new livery! It says, ‘we mean business’.”

Talking about his feelings about coming back to work after winter break, Hamilton added:

“I’m excited to go racing again. I feel calm, energized, and have my focus sharpened. I’m ready to do what’s necessary to win.”
