Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has said that he joined Chelsea for one man an that man is one other than Chelsea legend Didier Drogba.
Childhood inspiration
According to Chelsea News, Wesley Fofana is a Chelsea fan from his childhood. The French defender started to play football as a striker because he used to idolize Ivorian forward Didier Drogba.
Before coming to Chelsea, Drogba was already a famous name in Ligue 1 because he was playing for a top tier French club called Marseille. Jose Mourinho brought him to Chelsea and he became a legend of the game.
When Drogba was playing for Marseille, Wesley Fofana used to go and watch his games at the stadiums. The French defender also said that he used to watch Drogba’s football clips in YouTube. He wanted to learn by watching the Ivorian.
Wesley Fofana is not the first player to follow the Ivorian legend. Most of the African players support Chelsea because of Didier Drogba.
