West Ham have confirmed that full-back Arthur Masuaku has joined Turkish club Besiktas on a loan move. The DR Congo international moves to the Turkish side on a season-long loan with an option to make the loan permanent. Since he arrived in Olympiacos, the player has earned a cult status among the fans at West Ham with the fans naming him “King Arthur”. Now, with the offloading of the player complete, West ham can focus on their pursuit of Filip Kostic.

The 28-year-old payer had only six appearances for the Hammers in the Premier League last summer. Moreover, he has fallen out of favor in the eyes of David Moyes. Aaron Cresswell is the primary left-back player for the Hammers with Masuaku only in the team for cover in case of injury. The full-back has scored only two goals in 105 appearances for the Hammers. The second and most memorable one came in the 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the 2021/22 Premier League campaign.

West Ham to focus on Filip Kostic

With the offloading of players well underway, the Hammers can finally step up their pursuit of Filip Kostic. The versatile midfielder is currently. David Moyes’s primary target along with Burnley’s Maxwell Cornet. Initially, Kostic was reluctant to join West Ham. But now, according to the Evening Standard, the player has had a change of mind. He is now coming around to the idea of joining West Ham United this summer.

West Ham made an initial bid of £12.6m (€15m) for the player which was rejected by Frankfurt. Frankfurt is looking for a sum closer to £16.8m (€20m) for the player who is in the final year of his contract. Kostic has no intentions of leaving Champions League football. But, according to the Evening Standard, he has had a change of mind now. Kostic is a brilliant player and would perform exceedingly well under David Moyes
