Premier League side West Ham is ready to sign Wolves’ center defender Max Kilman this summer for a transfer fee of 40M. It’s been a busy week for all the premier league clubs and West Ham also try to bring some new faces in this transfer window.
The English center-back joined Wolves from Maidenhead United in 2018. However, the 27-year-old has to wait until May 2019 before making his debut for Wolves. Since then Kilman made 151 appearances for the Wolves. Former Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo praised Killman’s performance and called him a ” Very good football player”.
Last season, he made 44 appearances for Wolves across all competition. In the last premier league campaign, Max Kilman was one of the two players who completed all 3420 minutes in the premier league for Wolves. The other one is Arsenal’s center defender William Saliba.
In 2020 Max Kilman signed a new contract with Wolves. And in October 2020 the center-back extended his contract which will keep him at Molineux until 2025. Kilman becomes the captain of Wolves at the end of the last year. So, having just one year left in his contract, options are coming on Kilman’s way for a possible move in the summer. And East London club West Ham is targeting Wolves’s captain.
Max Kilman To West Ham
Last month the hammers offered 25M for Max Kilman, before Wolves rejected that Bid. It was expected that the Wolves want a higher bid for their captain. Now, it seems likely that Wolves are now willing to accept the new bid which allows Kilman to complete his move to the London Stadium with a transfer fee of 40M.
Max Kilman’s move to West Ham, means that the English defender will rejoin former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui. The Hammers brought the Spanish manager Julen Lopetegui in May as the club’s new head coach, after the departure of David Moyes.
West Ham technical director Tim Steiden confirmed that West Ham had no profit and sustainability issues because of their 105M sale of English midfielder Declan Rice to Arsenal last year. The hammer board is very busy making some new signings and eager to make Kilman’s move possible.
In June this year, the Hammers brought in young Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme with a transfer fee of 24M to give an extra option in the attack. Now West Ham want to strengthen the backline. Max Killman certainly is their primary target to give the backline extra strength.
