West Ham have responded to links surrounding a probable Mohammed Kudus exit and the signing of Max Kilman from Wolves. The Hammers will be led by Julen Lopetegui in the the upcoming season. David Moyes’ era at West Ham came to an end with the previous campaign.
Although, the Hammers did have a better league campaign than the 22/23 season finishing 9th with 52 points. However, that wasn’t enough for David Moyes to continue. Moyes led West Ham to their first European triumph winning the UEFA Europa Conference League in 2023.
Regardless, former Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui has already taken charge at the London Stadium. West Ham are keen to rebuild and reinforce their roster as they prepare for the upcoming term. Lopetegui has plans for the Hammers’ squad with players he wants to bring in and the ones he doesn’t desire. West Ham Technical Director Tim Steidten backs Lopetegui and up to seven signings can be made!
Furthermore, the fans will be hoping to see West Ham make a return to the European competitions and give a tough fight at the top end of the table. Consequently, with many key players leaving, and even more linked, the Hammers may have a totally new look diving into the new campaign!
Saudi looking to lure away Mohammed Kudus from West Ham!
The Hammers recently signed Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras. Many consider the 18-year old as a likely replacement for star Mohammed Kudus. Kudus’ first season in English top-flight football was simply impressive. However, the Ghanian has an £85 million release clause in his contract that becomes active next year.
With comparisons drawn with Guilherme, many consider that as a signal for Kudus to depart. Subsequently, Kudus’ departure would be a huge blow to the Hammers considering the quality he brings into attack.
Considering his release clause situation, if any club wishes to buy Kudus, they will have to pay significantly more this summer. But, links from Saudi are a big concern for Lopetegui’s side. Especially, when Saudi is not the one to back out from splurging on players. Moreover, Al-Ittihad are already considering to make a move for the Ghanian international.
With attack somewhat strengthened provided Kudus stays, West Ham are eyeing Max Kilman move.
The Hammers keen on signing Max Kilman!
The 27-year old Wolves captain is considered as a top target by the Hammers. West Ham made a £25 million offer for the defender. However, Wolves rejected it and have set an asking price of £45 million.
Moreover, Napoli are also keen on the 27-year old. The Italian side made a £30 million offer which was also rejected by Wolves. But, Kilman could reunite with Lopetegui at the London stadium.
Furthermore, the prospect of earning much higher wages at West Ham could certainly price away the defender. Kilman currently earns £50k at the Molineux. However, since he could be replacing Kurt Zouma, he will at least double his wages!
Kilman currently has a long-term contract at the Molineux. However, Wolves will have to sell players to make signings of their own and could be looking to cash-in on the captain.
The Hammers respond to Kudus and Kilman links!
David Sullivan is pushing for Kilman move to make it happen for Lopetegui as a new Head Coach. Although Al-Ittihad are plotting a mega move for Kudus, the Ghanian may not leave. Especially, considering that he wishes to grow and prove himself in Europe.
A West Ham spokesperson provided an update on Kudus and Kilman links. The source stated:
“The Saudis can’t afford Kudus.
Kilman is one of a number of players we are bidding for.”
It will be really good for West Ham if they manage to retain Kudus and acquire Kilman from Wolves for the upcoming campaign.
