India got a rude shock in yesterday’s T20I against the West Indies where they were wrapped up for just 138 runs. Although the hosts also made matters complicated for themselves, they managed to win the match and now the series is levelled at 1-1.
In today’s match, India will have to bring in their other top players so that they can test out a few more combinations for the upcoming T20 World Cup. This is a good chance for both India and the Windies to test their bench strength. West Indies just checked off all the right things on their list in yesterday’s match as their bowling, batting and fielding were good compared to India.
India’s batters just played rash shots which cost them the game. West Indies also lost 5 wickets not to forget in the second innings but came back strongly to beat India by 5 wickets. So, today’s match will be an interesting one to watch out for.
Yesterday, the pitch had on offer a lot for both bowlers and batsmen. But, the pitch became suitable for pacers and we saw how Obed McCoy just picked up 6 wickets for 17 runs against India in yesterday’s game. Also, while India were able to post only 138 runs on the board, West Indies too struggled in the second innings and could win the match with only 4 balls remaining. So, the pitch won’t change much as the match is in the same venue but it can again be a low-scoring game for both sides.
WI vs IND, 3rd T20I Probable Playing XI:
For the visitors, it is a great chance for them to test out some combinations in both batting and bowling. While the current combination worked in their favour in the 1st T20I, it did not in the second. Hence, India should look to introduce better batters and bowlers to the squad today.
Predicted Playing XI:
Rohit Sharma (c), Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Dinesh Karthik, Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh
The hosts have found some semblance to their squad after yesterday’s game and so would like to continue with the same squad today as well.
Predicted Playing XI:
Kyle Mayers, Brandon King, Nicholas Pooran (c), Rovman Powell, Shimron Hetmyer, Devon Thomas (wk), Jason Holder, Akeal Hossein, Odean Smith, Alzarri Joseph, Obed McCoy
Venue: Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts
Date: 2nd August 2022

India should win this match as they were outwitted by the Windies last time. They just need to be careful in their shot selection. West Indies too have a strong chance to beat India as they played really well yesterday.
