Wriddhiman Saha and Amit Mishra have announced their respective recoveries from Covid-19. Both players had tested positive for the virus on May 4. On that same day that IPL 2021 was suspended indefinitely.
Prasidh Krishna was tested positive on May 8. He has also recovered from Covid-19.
Wriddhiman and Krishna in Test Squad:
Wriddhiman Saha is part of the India squad that is due to tour England for the World Test Championship final against New Zealand. This team will also play a five-Test series against the hosts.
Krishna is one of the four players named stand-by. These two, along with KL Rahul had been named in the squad. KL Rahul has undergone surgery after being diagnosed with appendicitis. He has to clear fitness tests.
The England-bound India squad is set to begin its pre-departure quarantine in Mumbai on Wednesday. But Saha is expected to join his teammates later. He has received the BCCI’s permission to spend some time with his family in Kolkata.
Virat Kohli and his men are scheduled to take on New Zealand in the World Test Championship final. The Final match will be on June 18 in Southampton. The five-Test series against England is to be held in August.
Amit Mishra recovers from COVID:
Amit Mishra announced his recovery via Twitter on Tuesday. Mishra, the Delhi Capitals legspinner, did so while expressing his gratitude to healthcare workers.
BCCI have pulled off the IPL 2021. There is no further updates about the league. the venue is likely to be UAE. But England and Sri Lanka are buzzing as options.
