It’s another twist in the transfer saga for Chelsea fans. In other news, Depor de La Coruna winger Yeremay Hernandez, the 22-year-old sensation who has been lighting up the Spanish second division, is a target for the Blues. Hernandez is in form: eight goals and three assists in all competitions, and Chelsea might just take him to the Premier League to put fire in their attack.
It’s January, and as we all know, Chelsea’s transfer policy is like a kid in a candy shop: “Can’t you have them all? Why not?” This is the Hernandez deal of a lifetime, right? Or will this transfer vanish faster than a popsicle in the sun? Let’s dig in.
🚀 Who is Yeremay Hernandez?
Yeremay Hernandez: You probably haven’t heard of him, and that’s normal. It looks like Chelsea are interested in this kid, so it’s not some random winger. Hernandez has been waging havoc on defenders over in Spain under the moniker ‘El Coco’ (either ‘the coconut’ or ‘the bogeyman’—either way, scary stuff).
He’s versatile enough to play on either flank, making him a good option on either flank for Chelsea’s forward. And after watching Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke meander about and barely score, Chelsea desperately requires someone who can do more than just trickle around in circles.
💰 The Offer on the Table
Chelsea has already offered a firm price for Hernandez, according to Onda Cero (via Nacho Sanchis). It’s like that friend who says they’re “thinking about buying a new car,” and then the next day shows up with the keys to the car. This transfer isn’t just on Chelsea’s mind; they’re going full tilt.
But Deportivo de La Coruña isn’t rushing Real to sell their star man, even if others are. He is a key man for the Spanish side and is contracted to a long deal. Translation? They will face deep pockets. Anyway, who cares about another few million pounds when you’ve already swallowed half of London’s GDP on transfers?
🤔 What Does Yeremay Hernandez Bring to Chelsea?
Want to be honest, Chelsea’s attack has been as blistering as a spoon lately. Blues need someone who can score, carry its fate, and shoot on target. Hernandez has that cutting edge. He’s quick, he’s tricky, and he knows where the goal is… Three things that have gone missing for some time of late at Stamford Bridge.
And then playing in the Spanish second tier is a lot different from playing in the Premier League. Chelsea knows it, Deportivo definitely knows it, and Hernandez knows it. The question is: Can they get a deal done before the transfer window shuts?
🔵 Chelsea’s Season So Far
Chelsea has not been bad this season either (by recent standards at least). They’re in the running for the Champions League, and manager Enzo Maresca is definitely reeling something out of nothing.
But here’s the kicker: Chelsea need reinforcements to keep their form going into the second half of the campaign. And if Mueller helps sign Hernandez, that’s a good starting point, but it’s not the end. A central defender also wouldn’t hurt, as relying on Thiago Silva at 39 is like duct tape to fix a sinking ship.
✍️ My Two Cents
I think they could be a really good signing for Chelsea, just if they let Yeremay Hernandez settle in. Too many Premier League players struggle to adapt; you ask Mudryk, Kai Havertz, Romelu Lukaku, anyone…
If they are to continue treating new signings like instant noodles (not everything cooks in two minutes!), Chelsea must stop! First, Hernandez has to be patient, trust, and get a clear role with the team if he joins. If not, he will be an expensive flop. Trust me, the Stamford Bridge storage room is already full of those, and they still annoy me.
