The U-19 Indian Team registers a thumping win against Sri Lanka to win the U-19 Asia Cup at Dubai International Stadium. The Indian team dominated the entire clash despite rain spoiling sport for more than 120 minutes.

The Sri Lankan eleven were always in the back seat as the Indian bowlers rattled their batting unit in the 1st innings. With morning showers pouring in, the Dubai track assisted the seam bowlers. However, left-arm orthodox Vicky Ostwal was the leading wicket-taker and did not let the middle-order batters build partnerships.

Sri Lanka was restricted to 106-9 in 38 overs. Only 4 batters could get to double-digit scores. The target was revised to 102 as per the DLS rule. The target was quite a low par score and the Indian top orders sensibly chased down the target in 21.3 overs. The Sri Lankan bowlers struck an early blow by dismissing Harnoor Singh for 5 runs (off 13 deliveries). Delhi opener Rajvardhan Hangargekar smashed a brilliant fifty(56* off 67 deliveries), carrying his bat through till the end.

It was a convincing victory for the youngsters as India U-19 won a record 8 times out of the 9 editions of the tournament. Harnoor Singh was adjudged the Player of the Series for being the leading run-getter of the tournament. Vicky Ostwal has rewarded the Player Of the Match for a stellar spin with the ball.

Brief scores: Sri Lanka 106/9 in 38 overs (Yasiru Rodrigo 19 not out, Raveen de Silva 15; Vicky Ostwal 3/11, Kaushal Tambe 2/23) lost to India 104/1 in 21.3 overs (Angkrish Raghuvanshi 56 not out, Shaik Rasheed 31 not out; Yasiru Rodrigo 1/12)
