Youri Tielemens Talks About Future

Youri Tielemens has been the subject of interest from a number of Premier League clubs. The midfielder is in the final year of his contract at Leicester City, and he is not short of suitors. Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool are the clubs in the running for the Belgian. He can be a good fit for all three of them.

Manchester United will be looking to upgrade their midfield under Erik Ten Hag. With the deal for Frenkie de Jong being a difficult one, Tielemens can be a good alternative. In fact, he can be a perfect partner for him too. Tielemens gets into half-spaces to put in balls for the attackers, which can be key for breaking down low-blocks.

Liverpool too remain interested. The Merseyside club would like to reassess their options in midfield, especially due to the injury concerns of Thiago Alcantara, Naby Kieta and Jordan Henderson. James Milner is approaching 38, and with a possible move to Villa, Klopp would be looking for some new signings.

The most news has possibly come out of the Arsenal camp. Mikel Arteta is a big fan, and would like to add him to his squad. Marquee signing Thomas Partey has struggled to remain fit, and Granit Xhaka has proven to be unreliable at times. Mohammed Elneny is a serviceable backup, but he isn’t perhaps the solution to Arsenal’s problems. Tielemens can slot straight into the Gunners’ midfield and improve them.

What Tielemes Has Said

Despite the speculation around hum, Tielemens looks calm. He says that he is happy at his current club, and carefully planning his future.

I try not to think about it much and focus on my own performance, it works well, But it’s actually amazing how much they talk about my future. Every day they name a different club. I am very calm. My contract expires in 2023 and it’s not that I absolutely want to leave. I haven’t made my decision yet. If I have to stay another year, I will gladly do so. The club has been really great towards me. They remain very professional, just like me.

It will be interesting to see where Youri Tielemens ends up. He has been a consistent performer for the Foxes for some time, and an opportunity to get him cheap is too good to pass up.
