As per reports, Bayern Munich are in the race to compete for Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen. The Bundesliga club is ready to rival other clubs chasing Osimhen namely, Manchester United and Manchester City.
With 9 goals in 11 appearances for Napoli this season, the Nigerian is becoming a topliner. In all competitions, the 22-yrs-old forward has 19 goals in 41 appearances.
Real Madrid have also identified him as an alternative to Kylian Mbappe, should the Frenchman not make the move from Paris Saint-Germain. However, Bayern are seemingly more desperate for the player as they prepare for a potential Robert Lewandowski replacement.
Osimhen can be the perfect replacement for Lewandowski at Bayern
Victor Osimhen has now grown into his teal element and has become very key for Napoli. Thanks to the new coach Luciano Spalletti who changed the team’s style to get the best out of Victor Osimhen which is in the good of the team.
Before his move to Naples in 2020, Osimhen had 18 goals and 6 assists in 38 appearances for Lille. In the Europa League this season, Osimhen has already scored 4 goals in 3 games, averaging a goal every 42 mins. He is just one goal short of Lyon’s Toko Ekambi for the highest goals in the competition this season.
With such a stat pad and talent, he is one of the emerging stars in the sport. The fact that big clubs are competing to get the Nigerian’s signature is no shock.
It is no secret that Bayern’s Lewandowski is at his peak at the moment. However, Poland international is also looking for a move outside of Munich. Considering this fact, the club is chasing Osimhen as a contingency plan and a potential replacement in case need be.
Reportedly, Bayern are plotting a swoop for the Nigerian and could make a move in January. However, Napoli wouldn’t accept any offer lower than £84m.
