The midfielder Fabinho reportedly has signed a new long term contract with the English Premier League club Liverpool.

The Brazilian is the second key member of Jurgen Klopp’s side to devote their career to the Reds. The first member was Liverpool’s star defender Trent Alexander-Arnold, who signed a fresh deal with the club last month.

“I’m delighted to have signed a new contract with the club,” Fabinho told liverpoolfc.com. He has extended his contract with Anfield till the 2026 summer.

He also added in an interview to liverpoolfc.com: “I was really positive about it because it’s what I wanted – staying in this club, keep playing for Liverpool. Now this is official and I’m really happy. We achieved things together and for me I think it’s the best place to be, the best place to keep growing, to keep learning from the staff, from the boys. Hopefully we will keep achieving good things.”

Will Fabinho be able to show the impact of his good performance for Liverpool as earlier?

Fabinho’s previous contract with the Reds was till the summer of 2023. His renewal is a part of Liverppol’s plan to tie down the contracts of experienced and senior players during the coming months.

The PFA news agency says that Liverpool are thinking of extending the contracts of Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk, Alisson Becker and Andy Robertson.

This has come after the departure of one of the main midfielders Georginio Wijnaldum. He has left for Paris St Germain during this summer transfer window.

Since Fabinho’s arrival at Anfield from Monaco in 2018, the midfielder has played an integral role for his club in the Premier League and in the UEFA Champions League success.

The 27-year-old midfielder Fabinho has featured on 122 occasions for Liverpool. He scored three goals last season and that too against the title winners Manchester City during the 2019/20 campaign.
