Christian Romero may face an extended suspension after his red card in the match against Liverpool at the moment.
Extended:
Christian Romero got a red card in the match against Liverpool. He was not that great in the match either. The player was given an extended suspension. One of the main reasons for this is also the fact that actually, he did not leave the field and he was acting aggressively too. This is the reason why due to the Football Association of England, he was given an extended ban of course. The player received a second yellow card for kicking out a Liverpool defender, Ibrahima Konate at the moment. Tottenham Hotspurs lost the match by 2-1 as well. Christian Romero was ordered to leave the field too. However, he did not leave the field either. The dismissal of Christian Romero, led Tottenham Hotspurs go down to nine men of course.
Christian Romero may face extended suspension:
At first Christian Romero was actually shown a yellow card because of his dissent towards the referee arguing he was pushed by Hugo Ekitike. When the forward scored the second goal for Liverpool, he talked about how Hugo Ekitike actually started to push him.
“It’s alleged that he (Romero) acted in an improper manner by failing to promptly leave the field of play and/or behaving in a confrontational and/or aggressive manner towards the match referee after being sent off in the 93rd minute,” said an FA statement.
If the investigation continues and he is found to be guilty then, he is going to be given a lot more suspension. Another player who was shown a red card in the same match was Micky Van De Ven. This was one of the reasons why Tottenham Hotspurs lost too because they went down to nine men as well.
