According to reports, Erling Haaland‘s transfer decision in the summer could have a massive impact on Arsenal‘s hunt to land a new striker in the summer transfer window.

Reports coming out of the Emirates Stadium suggest that Mikel Arteta and Arsenal are keen to land Lille forward Jonathan David in this summer transfer window. The young forward has been linked with Arsenal throughout the year. The club are long-term admirers of the Canadian forward since his time with Genk in Belgium. The club are also scouting Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Real Sociedad forward Alexander Isak. Napoli forward Victor Osimhen is also on the list.

Current Premier League Standings

The forward has publically admitted his desire to leave the French outfit at the end of the season. Speak to Radio Canada, his agent Nick Mavromaras said:

“For us, the objective is to finish the season in Lille. But it will be his last season there for several reasons.”

While Arsenal let off of their star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on a free transfer to Barcelona in the January transfer window. The only senior striker at the club Alexandre Lacazette’s contract is up at the end of the season. There are no signs right now that an agreement on a new contract is close between the two parties.

Could Erling Haaland mess up Arsenal’s ideal summer transfer window?

While Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland is widely expected to leave the German side in the summer. Spanish giants Real Madrid are keen to land Erling Haaland in the summer alongside French forward Kylian Mbappé.

European giants the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Manchester United are all keen to land the Norwegian striker in the summer. Haaland has a reported release clause of around 75 million euros that comes into effect at the end of the current season.

But Spanish outlet Defensa central have reported that the Los Blancos could make a move for Arsenal striker target Jonathan David if they miss out on the signature of Haaland. If Real Madrid comes calling the Canadian forward would certainly pick the Los Blancos over Arsenal.
