Arteta plans to keep Tierney at the club for next season

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta plans to keep Keiran Tierney at the Emirates for next season, amidst talks of a potential transfer.

The Scottish full-back was not happy with his game time at the club and he was planning to move away from the club this summer. Manchester City, Newcastle United and Aston Villa have been linked for his signature this summer.

However, Mikel Arteta is now wants to have him in his ranks next season. The Spaniard believes that Tierney can be a important player for the Gunners in future.

Tierney was a regular in Arsenal’s team, until Oleksandr Zinchenko arrived from Manchester City. The Ukrainian’s huge impact in the team made him a star at the Emirates.

As per reports, Arteta has held talks with the Scottish international and has assured him that he will have his extended role in the team next season. The Spanish manager is planing to 3 defenders at the back and Tierney is someone who will fit better in that system.

Arsenal were planning to bring Joao Cancelo this summer. If the Portuguese star joins Arsenal, then Tierney will move back to his primary right-back position.
