Bukayo Saka will not feature against Manchester City, claims Murphy

Bukayo Saka

Pundit Danny Murphy claims Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka will not feature against Manchester City as he might not be fit this weekend.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Murphy was discussing the 22-year-old’s availablity after he limped off on the first-half against Lens on Tuesday. Saka is not at his full fitness in last couple of games for Arsenal.

He also cameoff towards end the match against Bournemouth last weekend. Saka didn’t even complete the first-half in France as Arsenal tasted their first defeat this season.

It is a huge blow Gunners as Saka has been a important player in Mikel Arteta’s team. As Murphy suggests, he will miss the clash against Manchester City.

Murphy feels the fact that Arteta has been over dependent of Bukayo Saka, who he termed as “phenomenal”. He said :-

“I’ve thought all along, I don’t mind him playing a lot of the games, but I think in some many games where they were up last season, they left him on the pitch. They played him in Europe in games they didn’t need to. I don’t think he rotates him very well generally.

“He had a knock as well [at Bournemouth]. Now it doesn’t look like the knock is linked to the muscle injury he got last night. But if you’re winning 3-0 away at Bournemouth and your player’s limping around and he’s got a knock, just bring him off. Give him a breather.

“There’s no way he’ll be playing. It’s a muscle injury. No chance.”
