Chelsea in Advanced Talks for 60m deal to sign Crystal Palace Sensation

Chelsea

It’s the biggest potential deal for Chelsea this summer. The Blues are eagerly anticipating this deal, but they will need to exercise patience due to its complexities. Last summer, despite serious interest, the Eagles persuaded Olise to sign a new contract. In return, they included a release clause so that top clubs can pursue him without complex negotiations. Now they’re reportedly offering more money to convince Olise to stay for another year and raise his release clause to £100m. Chelsea aims to finalize personal terms with Michael Olise and his representatives to secure the transfer. Since joining Palace in 2021, the Frenchman has scored 16 goals and contributed 25 assists in 90 appearances for the Eagles. He has been selected in France’s squad for Olympics. The Olympics final is on 9th August, a week before Premier league starts, prompting Chelsea’s urgency.

Palace making strong push to extend Olise’s contract although Chelsea remain favourites

Palace is reluctant to part ways with their starboy at this price. According to reports they made a late attempt to retain Olise by offering him a new contract. They are offering better salary and increased the release clause to £100m. With Chelsea putting pressure too, the Frenchman should decline the offer of renewal and agree on personal terms with the Blues. Interest in the lad will increase and when other clubs engage, bids could surpass £60m mark. Olise’s priority is logical, he is a top player at a reasonable price with Premier league experience. Rival interest from Bayern Munich and Newcastle could pose challenges for the Blues in securing him.

As it stands Chelsea are still favourites. Ian Maatsen and Armando Broja’s imminent departure provides cash flow, easing the Olise signing. The Blues aim to ascend to the next level by adding a top-class player bolstering Enzo Maresca’s squad. Chelsea’s confidence is also growing as several sources doubt rivals can match the release clause. The Blues’ board are experienced in such deals, aim to replicate their success with Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo last summer. Olise finds an additional lure in his younger brother, Richard, who plays as a right back for Chelsea until summer 2025, extendable. The opportunity to play along with his brother is tempting for the Frenchman. He will decide on his future possibly by this month’s end.

International interest for Olise

David Ornstein reports Bayern Munich and Newcastle want to speak to the player representatives. Manchester City and Manchester United are also monitoring the tense situation plotting a sensational hijack. Olise could also stay at Palace but its highly unlikely now according to recent reports. Other clubs in Europe also want the signature of the talented Frenchman but don’t want to rush into negotiations yet.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has issued another update on Michael Olise to Chelsea via his latest YouTube video. He says:

“It will not be easy. Chelsea are there, Chelsea are confident, and Chelsea believe they have a good chance of signing Michael Olise, it won’t be easy, and nobody should have ever expected it to be easy when signing such a top quality player. We saw how hard it was with players like Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, these big deals are never straightforward.”
