Former Premier League defender Danny Murphy predicts the winner between Chelsea and Newcastle United ahead of their clash. The Blues will lock horns with Newcastle and Murphy thinks their will be a winner of the game. The Blues will travel to St James Park on Saturday for their game against the Toons. Mauricio Pochettino’s men are in a great run in the last two matches. They won 4-1 against Tottenham away from home and a 4-4 draw at home with Manchester City. Speaking on FIVE, Danny Murphy has said whether he thinks the Blues will be able to pick up from where they left off. However, Chelsea will surely be boosted by the return of Romeo Lavia and Nkunku into the squad. Moroever, they could directly be a part of the starting XI as well.
Though, Chelsea’s record at St James Park has not been great in the recent past. The West London side lost 0-1 in the same fixture last year. Despite this, Murphy backs the Men in Blue to emerge victorious against Newcastle this time. He said,
“I think Chelsea will win at Newcastle because of Newcastle’s injuries.”
Chelsea have found a bit of form under their new manager, Mauricio Pochettino. Contrary to the side that Graham Potter managed, this side is looking more confident. Even though Newcastle is having injury problems, it will not be an easy lane to pass by. It will be great if Chelsea pick up all the three points from this fixture to keep their Champions League dreams alive for next season.
