Fabrizio Romano shares what he knows about Barcelona’s plans for replacing Gavi

Journalist Fabrizio Romano shares what he knows about the plans of Spanish giants FC Barcelona to replace Gavi. It was a shell-shocking incident for Barcelona when Gavi sustained an ACL injury last week playing for Spain. The young midfielder will be sidelined until next season owing to his injury. Moreover, his dreams of featuring in Euro 2024 are looking under the line until he makes a miracle recovery. Even if he recovers before the tournament, it will take time for him to reach the level he is at the moment.

The management at Barcelona are extremely furious with Spanish Football Federation. They played in what was a ‘meaningless’ match as Spain were already in the Euro as the defending champions. Fabrizio Romano, writing in his Daily Briefing for CaughtOffside, discusses about the replacements of the midfielder. He said,

“There’s nothing to announce of course regarding a replacement for Gavi despite the rumours.

It’s November guys, and Gavi only got injured a few days ago. It would be mad to already have a replacement in mind, and I can confirm that nothing is happening now.

Barça will take their time and discuss things internally, they’re not in a hurry and their priority is still to register Vitor Roque.

Although Romano is right in his place, but Barca must give a thought about the situation. Perhaps they will get a graduate from La Masia to replace him for the rest of the season. This will save them some money as well as some boost to the young players giving their best in the academy. There might surely be many enthusiasts like Gavi in La Masia who are ready to prove themselves in the first team.
